I wrote this song a few months ago. Around November of 2013. This song is about coping with an end of a relationship. Not necessary putting the blame on either person, but more so, just trying to understand the situation. This is the newest song that I've written and I plan on adding banjo, drums, and piano on it for a final finished version sometime in the future for another EP I have in mind for winter 2014, or spring 2015.
lyrics
It took 3 whole months, to realize that I had something great
And like any true romantic would, I fucked it up and I gave it away
And now I live with that, every minute of every day
I sit here alone at night, wondering if you're missing our ways
But I can't hate, on how everything turned out wrong
Wrong for me at least I'd say, but we live to see these better days
And I'll get by, yeah I'll be good and fine
With these strings and these songs I sing, I trust nothing but these melodies
This is the ballad of a true romantic
A love so sweet, but a story so tragic
It fell apart when we both got frantic
I blame her words, but also my tactics
This is the ballad of a true romantic
A love so sweet, but a story so tragic
It fell apart when we both got frantic
It fell apart yeah, we fell apart yeah
It's been 6 full months, since I've seen her or those eyes
And damn do I miss that sight, but then again they made me cry
Now I'll stand strong, you won't knock me down again
And though we may get along, this love has burned from both our ends
This is the ballad of a true romantic
A love so sweet, but a story so tragic
It fell apart when we both got frantic
I blame her words, but also my tactics
This is the ballad of a true romantic
A love so sweet, but a story so tragic
It fell apart when we both got frantic
It fell apart yeah, we fell apart yeah
I stood by you through those days
The early mornings and the late night stays
And now I'm stuck with this memory
The kind that won't ever go away
You had my heart and you had my soul (this is my ballad, you've heard it once)
You let it go when the wind got cold (now hear it twice while I scream my lungs)
I don't think that I'll ever know (this is my ballad, you've heard it once)
Why you left me here alone (now hear it twice while I scream my lungs)
